2. Purpose and scope

We process application data to assess your application, communicate with you and decide whether to establish an employment or apprenticeship relationship. This may include contact details, your CV, qualifications, certificates, interview notes and other information you voluntarily provide.

Please provide only information required for the application process. Special categories of personal data should be disclosed only where exceptionally necessary.

3. Legal bases

Processing is generally based on section 26(1) of the German Federal Data Protection Act in conjunction with Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Where processing is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, it is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Any additional storage, for example in a future applicant pool, takes place only with separate voluntary consent.

4. Recipients

Access is limited to people involved in recruitment. Technical service providers may process information where necessary, in particular email, hosting or communication providers. Data-processing agreements are used where required.

5. Applications by email

When you apply by email, we process the message and attachments to conduct the recruitment process. Please use appropriate email security and do not send unnecessary sensitive documents.

6. Optional contact through WhatsApp

If you use a WhatsApp link, you leave our website and use a service provided by WhatsApp Ireland Limited. WhatsApp processes information such as your telephone number, communication data and technical usage information under its own terms. Processing outside the European Economic Area cannot be ruled out.

WhatsApp is voluntary. Email and telephone are equally available. Please do not send identity documents, health information, complete certificate files or other particularly sensitive material through WhatsApp. We recommend email for application documents.

7. Retention

If an application does not result in employment, we generally delete the application data no later than six months after the process has ended, unless statutory retention duties or specific legal claims require longer storage. If you are hired, necessary data is transferred to the personnel file. Longer storage for future vacancies takes place only with separate consent.

8. Requirement to provide data

You are not legally obliged to provide personal data. Without the information needed to assess your application, however, we may be unable to carry out the recruitment process.

9. Your rights

Subject to the GDPR, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. You may withdraw consent at any time for the future.

10. Right to complain

You may complain to a data-protection supervisory authority. In North Rhine-Westphalia, the competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia.
